Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Octo Ecom LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. By using the AppJail app you accept them. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If the two conflict, these terms apply between you and us.

1. What the app does

AppJail helps you limit the apps and websites you choose, on schedules and allowances you set, using Apple's Screen Time. The locking itself is done by iOS. AppJail is a self-control tool, not a parental control or security product, and it is not medical or mental health treatment.

2. Things that can stop a lock

Because iOS does the locking, a lock can be lifted by things outside our control, such as switching off Screen Time access for AppJail in Settings, deleting the app, or changes Apple makes to iOS. We do our best to make locks reliable but cannot promise they will hold in every case.

3. Purchases and subscriptions

AppJail Pro is sold through Apple, either as a yearly auto-renewing subscription or as a one-time lifetime purchase, at the price shown in the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. The yearly subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Apple handles refunds under its own policies. Restore earlier purchases from Settings in the app.

4. Acceptable use

Do not reverse engineer the app, misuse it, or use it to break the law, including to monitor or restrict another person's device without their consent.

5. No warranty

To the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or that it is free of errors.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Octo Ecom LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including missed messages, calls or notifications from a locked app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date and tell you in the app about material changes. If you keep using the app after that, you accept the new terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
