Privacy policy
This policy covers the AppJail iPhone app and the appjail.app website, including its launch list. In short: the app collects nothing, and the website keeps only the email you give us.
Who we are
AppJail is made by Octo Ecom LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. Contact us at hello@appjail.app.
In the app
- No account and no server. Your rules, schedules, allowances and stats are stored on your iPhone only. We never receive them.
- The apps you lock stay private. AppJail uses Apple's Screen Time (the FamilyControls, ManagedSettings and DeviceActivity frameworks). When you pick apps, categories or websites, Apple gives AppJail sealed tokens, not names. We cannot see which apps you chose, how long you use them, or anything else about your usage.
- Purchases. AppJail Pro is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card details. The app only learns from Apple whether you have Pro.
- No tracking. The app has no advertising, analytics or other third-party code. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
On this website
- Your email address, if you join the launch list, and the optional answer to what you would lock up first.
- Where you came from, if the link you followed carried a tag, so we know where people find us.
- A one-way hash of your IP address, kept for up to 10 minutes to stop one visitor flooding the list.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider (IP address, browser type, pages requested), used for security and troubleshooting.
The website has no analytics, advertising trackers or cookies.
How we use it
We use your email only to tell you when AppJail is available, and for nothing else unless you ask. We do not sell, rent or share it.
Where it is kept
The website and launch list are hosted by o2switch in France, in the European Union. If we use an email service to send the launch email, it processes your address only on our behalf.
Your choices
Ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time by writing to hello@appjail.app. We reply within 30 days. We delete the launch list once the launch email has gone out, unless you asked to hear more.
California residents
We do not sell or share your personal information, as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) defines those words. You can ask to know, correct or delete what we hold, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Children
AppJail is meant for people managing their own phone. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
